Additional Information:
New Court Special School caters for students aged 5-18 with MGLD and additional complex needs.
Position 1 :We are looking for a part time (0.6 /3.5 hours per day) teacher who will be employed on a "Specified Purpose" Contract for the purpose of teaching students who have been granted an "exceptional" teaching allocation from the NCSE.
The teacher will be required to teach students on a 1:1 basis and to form part of a larger multidisciplinary team.
All students will have 1:1 SNA support and the teacher will facilitate individual programmes for up to 4 students. These student have been allocated an "Exceptional Teaching Allocation"
Knowledge of SEBD and Special education is required.
Position 2: Special class teacher -full hours on a fixed term basis for remainder of school year.
We are looking for a teacher who is inclusive, flexible and responsive to the needs of the children and the school. The ideal candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic and can work on their own initiative whilst making a positive contribution to their school team. We are looking for a teacher who can provide a nurturing environment for students who have experienced trauma and acute childhood experiences and require additional support for this.
The successful candidate must be willing to undertake in-school training which relates to the needs of pupils and the school.
Some of the complex needs with which students present include autism, multiple disabilities, communication needs and sensory processing difficulties. Prior experience of supporting students with these special needs is desirable.
Appointment is subject to satisfactory Garda vetting and occupational health screening.
