Lisdoweny NS, Scoil Bhríde is a vertical co-educational school under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Ossory, Bishop Niall Coll. The school seeks to appoint a teaching Principal beginning on the 6th January 2025.
The present teaching staff comprises 1 Teaching Principal and 3 Class Teachers
a SET teacher, one ASD class teacher and shared Resource hours teacher. There are 99 children currently enrolled.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the strong inter-personal skills that are required to lead and maintain a happy, active, and progressive school community. A commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school is essential.
Likewise fostering links with the wider school and parish community is desirable.
This school always strives to be a child-centred, happy and safe environment for all its pupils to learn and develop holistically to the best of their individual strengths and abilities. In addition to high academic expectations pupils are provided with opportunities to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities.
It is the policy of Lisdowney NS, Scoil Bhríde to foster self-esteem and empathy and to value each pupil for their uniqueness and difference. High standards and expectations are promoted, with efforts and initiative recognised and rewarded appropriately.
The roles and responsibilities for the post are set out in the four domains of Leadership and Management as specified in DoE Circular 0044/2019, Chapter 4.

3. Leading School Development.
4. Developing Leadership Capacity.
Candidates should have current and continuing Teaching Council registration and show evidence of and commitment to ongoing Professional Development. An in-depth knowledge and experience of SEN, multi-grade and special classes most desirable.
Candidates should have the ability to foster the involvement of parents within the school community, as well as a commitment to inclusion and diversity.
The appointment will be subject to current vetting requirements and occupational health screening.
