An internal panel of suitable applicants may be set up to fill vacancies which may occur within a specific time period (four months for teacher posts and the duration of the school year for SNA posts) from the date on which the Board approves the successful candidate.
Additional Information:
2 Special Needs Assistant positions advertised. Both SNAs will begin working in mainstream classes but may be deployed to our ASD classes at a later date. Both positions are junior day posts - 0.83.
The successful candidates may work with children: A) who require support across a range of learning, sensory difficulties and/or intimate care needs B) with Autism and complex need. Experience working with pupils with Autism and emotional, behavioural and communication difficulties advantageous.
Experience in TEACCH, PECS, Lámh and positive behaviour strategies desirable. Candidates should be: energetic, flexible, trustworthy, able to work on their own initiative and also as part of a team. They must be willing to undertake CPD courses which relate to the needs of the children & the school. Candidates will be required to fulfil all hours relevant to their day and Croke Park Hours also. All appointments subject to successful completion of: Garda Vetting Procedure, Occupational Health Screening & TUSLA Child Safeguarding Training.
